The Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye today held his maiden meeting with members of the Diplomatic Corps in Nigeria. The meeting was to afford the Permanent Secretary the opportunity to interact with members of the Diplomatic Corps and to espouse his vision and mission for diplomatic interactions between the diplomats and host country.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary on behalf of the Honourable Ministers of Foreign Affairs thanked members of the Corps for the long standing friendship and partnership between their missions and the government of Nigeria. He specifically appreciated the support of foreign governments towards the success of Nigeria’s war on terrorism.
Ambassador Enikanolaiye, while requesting that all Missions respect well laid down channels of diplomatic communication, promised to run an open door policy. He also intimated the members of the Diplomatic Corps of new innovations to foster interaction between the Ministry and the Diplomatic Corps.
Responding on behalf of the Corps, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Ambassador Salahedine Abbas Ibrahima thanked the Permanent Secretary for meeting them and promised their continued support to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
